Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY

Scottish-born designer Charles Jeffrey quickly made a name for himself with his eponymous brand, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY. Its roots go back to 2009, when Jeffrey, a self-described club kid, left his hometown of Glasgow for London at 18. After earning a BA in fashion design at Central Saint Martins, he was named Best Emerging Menswear Designer at the 2017 British Fashion Awards less than a year after founding the brand, and was also nominated for the LVMH Prize. His experience of growing up gay in Scotland shapes his style, visible in collections that express pain, anger, escape and acceptance through provocative silhouettes, unexpected patterns and bold color. Traditional Scottish tartan trousers and accessories, a nod to his roots, contrast with graffiti-covered denim and logo knitwear, yet the collections hold together with real cohesion.
