SELF MADE presents collections focused on luxurious, elegant details inspired by the Filipino and Italian cultures that are designer GIANFRANCO VILLEGAS's roots. Knitwear he made as a student caught the eye of MARC ASCOLI, former art director for COMME des GARÇONS and Yohji Yamamoto, and he was soon in the spotlight after being selected as one of eight young designers for Who Is On Next? at Pitti Uomo in Italy. Every piece is made in Italy, and its signature products are simple items in fine materials finished with embroidery. Lineups that bring in Filipino culture, such as materials made from banana fiber, have drawn attention around the world.
