NAMESAKE
The NAMESAKE streetwear label is above all a family affair, born from the intergenerational collaboration between a father and his three sons. With roots in Taiwan, Japan, and the United States alike, NAMESAKE applies a nostalgic lens to logo-brandished streetwear, refashioning elements of Taiwan’s agricultural history, basketball apparel, and technology into something palpably modern. The label’s moniker (occasionally stylized as NAMESAK3) self-referentially addresses the concept of family lineage, but the distinctly Taiwanese inflections of its tailoring gesture towards the larger kith of community. The extended hems of shirting, hoodies, and T-shirts are indebted to traditional garb and streetwear alike, while fisherman knits cast in somber hues balance daytime work utility with statement eveningwear. Unified by bold logo typography and abstract graphic flourishes, NAMESAKE synthesizes deeply personal reference points to create generation-bridging menswear.
