Serapis Maritime

Founded in 2014, Serapis grew out of its four founders' wish to bring the worlds of contemporary art and fashion together with Greek shipping. Paying tribute to the grand culture of seafarers and their strong work ethic, Serapis builds its designs around the stories of those who have made their living at sea, conveying the warmer side of the shipping industry. Inspired by extensive historical archives, its pieces use high-quality, locally sourced fabrics and bring the industrial aesthetic of maritime workwear into avant-garde design. Serapis is known for elevating practical workwear into refined clothing; in its own interpretation, a fluorescent orange safety vest becomes an elegant dress in 100% premium Soufli silk. Its inspiration comes from the hard-working crews at sea, and photographs of their voyages are boldly printed on garments and accessories. Collections with catchy titles add further depth to Serapis' original world view, and every piece, grouped by collection theme, carries a tag with an individual production number.
