RANRA reworked Salomon's CrossPro model, reimagining the shoe with a focus on natural materials and artisanal plant-dyeing. Natural rubber, cork and leather are combined with water-repellent Ventile cotton canvas to keep the shoe's high performance. The adhesives commonly used in performance footwear were removed in favor of construction methods tied to traditional shoemaking. The canvas upper is dyed with Icelandic horsetail (Equisetum) hand-harvested at Uridavatn, Iceland. Each plant is prepared by hand through traditional processes. It was then hand-dyed by the design team to achieve the distinctive shading and textural variation unique to natural dyeing.
